The largest one day battle of the nineteenth century, over 450,000 men participated in the action which drove Austria out of Germany, and paved the way for the Unification of Germany under Prussia. One of the most significant, and least remembered, battles of history.

Interesting what if to consider how history would have turned out, if the Austrians had the won the battle.

It has a 'what if' examining how the Austrians could have won (though not the full alternative history ramifications if they had).

We played the whole thing a few years ago. It was all rather nail biting waiting for the Prussian flank attack to come in and save the day.

Buy Bloody Big Battles BTW. It has the scenario in a lovely bitesize chunk. Done it twice now, once with Volley and Bayonet (that was epic) and recently with BBB – again epic but in a different way.
