Had a ginormous 15mm Ming army for DBx. Sold it on eBay and then saw it at a convention several years later.

I am surprised how few have Chinese armies. Have a Han army built for WRG 6th a long, long time ago. Have other Chinese armies, though not technically ancient.

Ancients? Heck, Renaissance-era Ming are very interesting, with fascinating tactics like the Mandarin Duck formation, and innovative generals like Qi Jiguang ( link ) and Yu Dayou ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yu_Dayou ) .

Speaking of innovations, has anyone designed armies that include Mandarin Duck squads?

I think the poll would have benefitted from specifying when Chinese stop being "Ancient". I've fielded a Later Tang (AD 923-937) army, does that count?

(I'd incline to say it should not: we wouldn't call a temporary European army "ancient", and if we're looking for a cutoff date justified by Chinese history, I think the best option is the fall of the Western Jin in the early 4C, an event with strong parallels to the fall of the Western Roman Empire in the following century.)
