Recently, We had a tube TV go surplus (replaced by smart TV). I have an additional tube TV at my painting station that is used mainly for background noise. There is also my old work laptop in the same area. I just turned my tube TV into a smart TV by connecting it to my PC. I needed the following additional items: HDMI cable – picked one up from Comcast for free. HDMI to RCA Converter – from Best Buy for around $40.00 USD – may be cheaper on-line but I want to be able to easily return if this experiment failed. RCA cables – These are the three Red/yellow/white cables that come with DVD's and VCR's Cabled all together and I can run YouTube and Netflix thru my laptop to my tube TV. A lot cheaper that a new smart TV. |

In Oz the B&M chain store MiniSo (sells mainly Japanese girly items) sells HDMI to just about anything plugs for $10 USD-$15 as well as cables & USB gadgets for about the price most sellers charge for postage alone. |
