The great work on the English Invasions continues …

"The operations have continued and the English command decided to occupy the towns around Montevideo, for which they sent an infantry brigade, this is the report of the situation." On March 5, 1807, the brigade commanded by Col. Fetherstone, He arrived at the village of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción de Pando, whose inhabitants had left and could be occupied without major difficulties, there he settled and left as a garrison of the 40th Foot and the 36th Foot, then marched on Las Piedras where he arrived around five o'clock in the afternoon, confident that they would not find resistance as they had at Pando, they continued their march without taking the proper precautions when they marched on the enemy, that led them to receiving a closed discharge from both flanks from part of the dispersed citizens and wounded soldiers during the attacks on Montevideo and who had managed to return to their homes… "
