How do folks paint windows on vehicles such as HMMWVs or MTVR? I was thinking black and then adding a high gloss coating. I'd appreciate any advice.

I used to do black, now I do them all dark blue with some white highlights.

Black undercoat, dark blue main colour followed by a few streaks of a dark metal colour.

Dark blue, gradually fading to much, much, much lighter blue in one corner, the same corner on each pane.

Then, multiple coats of clear gloss lacquer brushed on after all clear protective spraying of the vehicle.

I usually do pretty much as-above, but I can't forget my High School Technical Drawing class, where we did colored pencil renderings of car glamor shots. The way they really look is a dark horizon-line with reflected sky above and a darker reflection below. It's a challenging paint job, but I've seen it done very impressively.
