Hi all: 20mm Skirmish Gamer (IABSM) here. Need to paint some Panzer IIIs for use in Gazala '42 Sicily 43 Anzio 44 Is there one color of yellow that I can use for all three time periods…? I think its not possible, right and that I'll need to use (1) Gelbraun-RAL-8000/ Vallejo-879 and/or RAL 8020 Tan Yello for Gazala (2) Dunkelgelb-RAL-7028 for Sicily (3) Dunkelgelb plus camo in Rotbraun and Olivgrun if appropriate Thanks, Dan |

Honestly? Just do it plain dunkelgelb and dust it up a lot. No-one is going to complain, and there were plenty of plain dunkelgelb vehicles right to end of the war. All the Pz IIIs at Arnhem were plain. |

Thanks! Given a) the tanks being quite small and that gaming table-top is at waist-height plus me and my fellow gamers are all over 55 years old…and our eyesight is not the best b) i'm trying to not have to buy one set of Panzer IIIs for DAK and another set for Sicily/Italy.. was thinking more along the same lines. What do others think? |

Many of the DAK tanks also had a camouflage pattern that was done in-theater. So you should be fine for all three of your periods by using option #3. Jim |

My Desert Panzers are very at home in Sicily or the Ostfront – dunkle gelb and a good coating of dust and mud covers all sins |

Thanks, folks! Seems quite reasonable. All Dunkelgelb plus dust and heavy weathering works for me on the gaming tabletop! |

I paint all of my German armour and vehicles Dunkelgelb for use in both theatres, except for the odd vehicle that would only be in Normandy for late war (e.g. Stug G, Jagdpanther etc). |
