From the Ferris collection, of course.

This map is a pretty big file, and it can be printed at a variety of sizes if you have the technical know-how (don't ask me). It is about 7200 x 6800 pixels. It should print up fine at 26" to 36" square-ish, but someone has told me that it could be printed at up to 90" square with good resolution if you know what you're doing. I don't; I'm a 3D printing man myself.

Scale-wise, if printed so that it is 28" wide, 1" will equal 330m, or about 1" = 1 brigade.

Here's the entire map area:

The picture above is not the actual image file because my blog limits the file size of the images I upload.

Here's a zoom-in on the actual map, where 1" = 330m.

I'm hoping to one day create a set of rules that use the Ferraris maps, because they really have just about everything you could want from a war-gamers point of view. I just wish I could remove those hideous elevation lines (I'm sure there are programs that can do it, just not at my skill-set). One day!

Anyways, enjoy!

The Ferraris maps are invaluable but they do long precede the battle, by decades. Hougomont forest is recorded as having fallen into disrepair and the formal layout shown was overgrown. Indeed the other forests marked had largely given way to agriculture, with just a few hedges as remnants. I seem to recall that The Farm of Mt St Jean was even on the wrong side of the chausee….but I must recheck that now! No, I ma wrong, no idea where I got that idea!

It is a brilliant resource nonetheless.
