My friend Steven is writing up our Warhammer 40k inspired campaign. But the interesting part is that we are using the Mantic Warpath rules to play it out.

Nicely done! I have done similar, using modified WW2 troops and vehicles, in similar fashion (though using 40K or home rules).

If they had a build system, I'd give it a try. The rules seemed pretty similar to an earlier version of Grimdark Future, plus a bunch of extra stuff about orders. Having a simple core is always a good thing.

But I didn't want to proxy the figures or design my own.

I was looking at Warpath Firefight, I think.
