I bought the Booklet "American Civil War Scenarios #1 – Bullets & Dirt" Supposed to be from a brigade to a division scenarios and many of them seem to be much larger.

I wonder why everything has to be so big in wargaming?

I will soon have about a dozen regiments for each side on a 8 x 4 table and no desire to have 24 units a side, especially because it's solo gaming.

Just reduce each brigade down to a regiment?

Sure, why not? It's called "bathtubbing."

I always wonder why everything is so small!

Or just pick a sector of a battlefield where a number of brigades engaged at some interesting point during the action, and do your own scenarios.

I'm always perplexed why gamers seem so dependent on scenario guides.

Well I dont know if I qualify as a gamer yet. I have my own ideas about how to approach rejiggering scenarios but wanted to hear what other, more experienced gamers do to adjust scenarios that dont quite fit their collection, figure scale or tabletop space.
