In 1997, writing in Miniature Wargames magazine, Jim Webster predicted a possible war between Pakistan and China – or at least sharp raids and strikes by China into Pakistan – over Pakistan support for Muslim insurgents in China. He also speculated that Russia would be willing to support Muslim insurgents in China. He saw India as a possible Chinese ally, with Russia, the USA, South Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia supporting Pakistan. Doesn't seem to have happened. Why not? |

Also, Russia is building an alliance with China v. the US, so it would be kinda of dumb to give China the middle finger at this juncture. |

Maybe the nations cited realize that war is generally a very expensive, bloody endeavor that rarely provides the results one seeks. You know, self-interest. |
