Are we talking country vs country…or "friends of the friends" vs l'Union Corse? I cannot answer the OP as a Francophile gamer but also a retiree from an Italian family operated business. Covert, I would give the Italians an edge. Armed forces to armed forces…France by far. |

Yeah probably the French in the long run. Would depend on the terrain as well. Italy has a lot of hills & mountains. As we saw in the WWII battle for that country. Being @ 80% Italian and 0 % French … I may be a bit biased …

I don't think either side would be able to get through the Alps. The question then becomes would either France or Italy be able to execute a large scale amphibious invasion? Since neither has done it before in the modern era (by themselves) it's pure speculation. Because of geography, Italy is more vulnerable to amphibious invasion as France could effectively cut the country in half with a successful operation cutting off supplies to the Armies holding the Alps and forcing a surrender. |
