The Taliban attacked Lashkar Gah in 2015, a year after most international troops withdrew from Afghanistan. Their offensive threatened much of the province and led to the return of some U.S. troops to Helmand…"

to be fair, most of Helmand is under the control of the Taliban in anycase – Lashkar Gar is a small island of vaguely Afghan government controlled territory in a sea of taliban.

Interesting, that TAPI gas pipeline project is still in progress, with basic engineering finished. TAPI should be transporting the gas from Turkmenia to Indian ocean and will be passing through all Afghanistan.
I wonder if the fate of the government in Kabul is sealed and there's an agreement with Taliban that they will allow the pipe to be constructed.
