Being in the process of doing just that, I'd say definitely keep the "arms length" idea in mind. I found the Confederate flag to be tougher than the Union. You need to only suggest the stars at that scale. |

I had a similar problem with Old Glory 10mm ACW. I ended handpainting the Confederate flags but with union flags I shrunk some images I found on the net, morphed the federal flag to fit and printed it on decal paper and put them on the metal flags and painted the edges to match. |

in 10mm I found those had to paint flags a nuance and removed them. Printed paper flags look much better. |
