Any suggestions for suitable Vallejo paints to do the dark green and green-khaki for Rhodesian vehicles?

Hello alan L

I hope the following helps.

From the New Rhodesian Forum:

If your interested in paint in small quantities in Army & Navy Modelworld, Jan 1988, J.W. Hopkins published and article 'Rhodesian Mine and Ambush Protected Vehicles'.

To replicate the vehicle colours he recommended:

- Blue green. Humbrol 76 Uniform Green, HB13 Azure Blue and HP3 German Camo Medium Green in equal quantities. Add more HB13 to get a faded effect. I recently tried to purchase these colours but the Humbrol range has changed so I substituted Humbrol 89 for the Azure Blue and Tamyia enamel XF58 Olive Green for the HP3.

- Buff/sand. Humbrol 93 Desert Yellow, 24 Matt Yellow and a touch of 76 Uniform Green.

For the resulting mixed colours see the pictures of my models in the miniature modelling section

Below is a link to a good Humbrol – Vallejo conversion chart:
