I ran this ASL scenario in 20mm on Saturday at Atomic Empire in Durham, NC as part of the Triangle Simulation Society's Cauldron 2019 Game Day. The forces were almost as published. The map was resticted by terrain on hand and table size. I do not strive for a perfect recreation of ASL in miniature but rather a fun interpretation of a boardgame I love for miniature gamers.

What a great looking game! What do you use for hexes? |

Are those ghq terrain maker hexes or is that a different scale. |

that's fantastic! What scenario was it? How long did the set up of the scenery took? How many turns and how long was it? Probably the best table I have seen in a long time. |

Outstanding! Thank you for sharing. John Hill loved seeing Squad Leader played as a miniatures game. |

Good stuff, and I'll bet any designer would love to see their game system played on such a beautiful table. |

Squad Leader was originally a set of miniatures rules but Avalon Hill had John turn it into a board game. |

Thanks a lot for all of the kind replies! Yes- 4" GHQ Terrain Maker hexes. The hills and some other pieces are cut out of blue board and the hex grid scored in with hot knife after they are shaped. The game took 45 minutes to set up once I got to the store. Only 15 minutes to take down thanks to helpers! The scenario was AP35 A Lesson for Lehr from the Action Pack on Normandy (5?). We played 4.5 turns in just under 3 hours. The scenario is 7.5 turns but this gave us good resolution and gave the next game plenty of time to set up. I want to make some more boards and possibly do 5" hexes which work better with 20mm buildings. 4" is perfect for 15mm in case anyone out there is interested. Thank you again! |

That is one beautiful table. I loved Squad Leader when I was younger. Hows about Hill 621 next? Long arms needed for that one. |

Thanks Trenchfoot! Ha yes that's the only limitation – table size! |
