ARGH!! The Loctite 5 min epoxy I've bought for years has changed their packaging and their formula. The old formula would cure pretty quickly around the 5 min point. Mind you, this is a very good thing when you're holding spiky bits into position with your fingers, and have many figures to do. I loved this stuff. The new formula doesn't set well enough for much longer than 5 mins. It's goopy junk, unsuitable for me. I have bought, I promise, at least 100 tubes of this stuff over the years. I walked through Lowe's trying to find a replacement, but nothing really jumped out. I bought some Loctite, but it's in seperate containers, not the convenient syringe. Ah well. Guess I'll have to range farther afield now. !

I never could get the syringe twin pack to work correctly. Always dispenses unequal amounts, and gets very messy after a few uses. Thats just me though, and the fact I have three thumbs. Rod |

You have got to be kidding! I just bought some on Saturday and haven't opened it yet. It is the FIRST epoxy EVER that could would correctly as planned

I agree with RodofAlphaForgeGames
I can never get the double syringes to work as advertised either. The mix is always off one way or the other. I typically dispense them seperately and mix them by hand to make sure the portions are correct. |

The trick is to mix more than you need. 1:2 and 99:100 are both off by only one part, but the ratio is hugely different. |

I appreciate the thought, but at $7 USD plus shipping, I think I can find something locally that will be acceptable (Loctite was about $2). |

I use Devcon 5-minute. Don't have any on hand right now (ran out), but I'm pretty sure its not Loctite brand repackaged. Works out very well for me

I didn't like the Devcon. Too flexible, didn't hold in small amounts. I went out and got JB Weld's quick version. So far it's an awesome bond, and it sets up good and quick. On another note, I hated the syringe thing after trying it, so I went to saw the plunger in twain, and ended up running the razor saw through my thumb. Luckily, it hit mostly callous and didn't go deep. (And this isn't the reason I don't like it. I've done worse.) |
