I will be flying into Heathrow and then driving up to Coventry for meetings in a couple weeks and I would love to hit any brick & mortar game stores that I can. Since I know that I land in the morning around 9 and it'll take me a couple hours at most to clear immigration and pick up my rental car, I figure I can take a couple minor detours to any local hobby shops along the way. I would prefer to go up the M40 as opposed to the M1 as its quicker and less stressful, but I realize that the M1 may offer more opportunities. After my meetings I plan on heading over towards Birmingham so any recommendations would be welcome for that area as well but they must be open into the early evening. So any suggestions? |

Remember to drive on the other side of the road. Can't help with hobby shops, not my part of the country. |

Sound advice. I'll make of point of driving on the proper side of the road. Cheers |

Rather than heading to Brum after your meetings, why not head up to Nottingham? It's 50 miles or so further north (M69, M1, A453) and you'll be in the heart of the Lead Belt. |

Battlefield Hobbies is at Daventry, between the M40 and M1. It is very close to the M45 which takes you straight to Coventry. link |

22nd Foot: Good suggestions but business forces me in the wrong direction. Swampster: Thanks for that one |

I confess that whenever I go back to the UK on business, usually in London, I always try to finish by Thursday and take Friday off before flying back Saturday morning. It makes beer and curry with old mates much less rushed and often allows a quick train ride up to Nottingham or elsewhere. Enjoy your trip. |

Just thought I'd give this a bump since I land tomorrow. |
