So I was playing GTA ONLINE just now and thought about how it would work on the tabletop. I would need some pointers to handle car chases and racing with some shooting involved. Also, ebay has tons of Hot Wheels cars to go with 15mm miniatures, but the shipping costs start at 25 euros for one car. Bit salty for me. Any ideas to find these from retail stores online? |

As for rules, check out the following: Axles and alloys: link I played once with a group. Large table and terrain, each car plots it's move and fires when targets are lined up. TwoHourWargames Machinas: May have been sold off to Rebel Minis. Cars move in a pack and dice are rolled as drivers jockey for position and bash into or shoot at each other. Very small footprint on the tabletop (can be easily played on a 2x2 table), can be played solo. |

For hot wheels and Matchbox cars ebay has been my best resource. Parents typically getting rid of them and you can pick them up for 50 cents/car or less. |

Check you local country's eBay. Shipping prices for local deliveries should run far less than that. Consider too, buying multiple items on eBay from the same seller, since they'll often combine shipping for free, or for a greatly reduced price after your purchase of the first item. If they won't, find another seller who will. |

For the heapest, Facebook Market Place is best. As much as I loathe Facebook it is best. But, I hit the flea market tables at the local cons. The Goodwills/Savers are a cheap source as well. Summertime is upon us, yard/garage sales will be popping up all over as well. And yes, buy Gaslands. Join the different Facebook Gaslands groups. Hace access to the Friends of Gaslands for those selling bits and bobs to convert your cars. Be they guns, ammo, armor, engines, tires or harpoon launchers sources can be found. Grimm |

I live in Europe. Haven't seen many toy stores around my town. Gotta start searching the interwebs. You guys think 1/64 hot wheels go with 15mm dudes? |
miniMo | 27 May 2019 3:47 p.m. PST |
(US shoppers, Target usually has them for .99¢) Wait til September for Gaslands, expanded 1.1 edition coming out. Buy Maximillian 1934 now. 20mm figures go better with Hot Wheels/Matchbox. 15mm go better with 1/87 HO scale cars. |

Allright 1/64 it is then. Those Forza and Fast and furious cars look awesome, just the kind I'm looking for. I plan on having Elhiem civilians/plainclothes folks for characters and NPCs. I wrote a system to run with bullet/money counting and grinding out progress in campaigns, and plan on doing floorplans for buildings and city streets using a3 paper and coloring pencils. |
miniMo | 28 May 2019 1:45 p.m. PST |
Yup, Elhiem work fine with 1/64! |

Where exactly in Europe? And why does "not many" toy stores matter? There's really only one here, but I still have a huge overload of places to buy these things (or did you mean "not any"?). Department stores, supermarkets, discount chains, some antique stores which are actually more like big warehouses of old junk, others which are really antique and vintage stores which still may have some, markets, swapmeets, garage sales, charity shops, servos and roadhouses… Newsagents, even. General stores. I have a load of redundant ones to get rid of, as soon as I have a spare Saturday to have a garage sale. As for rules, scour Freewargamesrules; they have several rulesets of varying complexity for various kinds of car chases, such as Road Rage V8 (GTi Edition), which could cover Mad Max, but also James Bond or 80s action movies; Axle Tribes; Axles and Alloys… The list goes on and on, and you can have them all for free, so no need to pay money just to see if you like them. |

Car Wars. You just have to scale it to the size of the cars. |
miniMo | 29 May 2019 3:06 p.m. PST |
Also, wait to buy Car Wars. Rebooted version coming to Kickstarter probably later this year with somewhat streamlined rules and very snazzy components this time. |
