𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲! As of late 2017, Ironclad Games, the rules (read The Wargamer review at link and related miniatures seem to have disappeared. Yes, the Website is still up, to include 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗗𝗙 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀 ( quietmartianfront.com/rulesfaqs ) of all AQMF rules and expansions, but all minis are out of stock so you'll have to go to Miniature Market to purchase them. Mystery solved. The rights to the game system have been purchased by 𝗔𝗯𝗯𝘆 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 ( abbynormalpublishing.com ) who plan to Kickstart and rebrand it as Return of the War of the Worlds. And in an extra bit of semi-related good news, the 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗨𝗞 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝗿 𝟭𝟵𝟭𝟯 – 𝟭𝟵𝟭𝟳 is now hosted by the non-profit Internet Archive for both viewing and 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 download ( link ).

If this is old news, apologies in advance.

Thanks, Colonel Bill. I had heard that someone had purchased them from MM, but had not heard who.

Hadn't heard this news, but it's good! I got in on the original kickstarter as the subject and the miniatures seemed so unique. (Got most of my stuff before Alien Dungeon went under, but even so I got my money's worth). The only thing I was quite disappointed with were the rules to be honest.

And I guess it's a shame that Abby Normal Publishing couldn't get the brain of Hans Delbruck, scientist and saint.

Another Kickstarter??? Hopefully people learned their lesson from the first Kickstarter… the one where Ernie burnt everyone and filed bankruptcy.

Tony S25 May 2019 1:57 p.m. PST

Ernie burnt everyone

Not entirely true. I can vouch for myself, and a friend, that we received most of everything we were promised. I'd memory serves, I was only missing the big anti tripod gun. I got my money's worth.

Even if I am an aberration, I hope the new Kickstarter doesn't get tarred with the unfortunate brush. It's a completely different company isn't it?

Colonel Bill25 May 2019 4:51 p.m. PST

And I assume that "Ernie" was part of the Alien Dungeon crew, not Ironclad Games, correct?

Yeah, Ernie was Alien Dungeon.

I'm another Kickstarter and I got all of my stuff.

David Johansen25 May 2019 5:51 p.m. PST

I think I've got a big anti tripod gun kicking around if you're interested Tony.

Thresher0125 May 2019 7:11 p.m. PST

Perhaps they're trying to live up to the title name.

Lucius25 May 2019 7:28 p.m. PST

I've got a lot of the original models, and, like Tony S, was put off by the rules layout. The quick start rules in the box set were not playable on their own, and there were no official scenarios to guide you through intro games. I hope the new owners make accessible rules a priority.

dbander12326 May 2019 2:52 a.m. PST

Another kickstarter here also. More than pleased with what I received

Ostroc26 May 2019 4:44 a.m. PST

I got most of my stuff, still not happy that I didn't get it all. unfortunately Ernie stole from me by not supplying all he promised and that can't be forgiven.

I do wish the new owners the best, I just won't be participating due to the bad taste in my mouth.

Regards

Jez

Lucius, et al,

I here you, but remember all the rules and expansions – and we are talking the complete, full color $ 40 hardcopy rulebook – are now available for FREE download at the link I gave. That part of it should no longer be an issue if you act quick, as I have no idea whether the new folks will continue that part of it.

The full color rules are exceptional IMHO.

I did find the primary site under construction (vice the place holder I gave the URL for above) and it is at abbynormalinc.com/aqmf-home/. Its design suggests a Kickstarter may not be necessary, but we will have to wait and see. Interesting that all the pricing is currently in GBP.

I'm another backer who got everything. Luck of the draw I guess.

TheKing3026 May 2019 4:47 p.m. PST

@Cloudcaptian – I'm happy that you got everything you ordered. However I think you might be in the minority. Either way – I don't understand who would back this as a Kickstarter a second time around. 😆

I backed the kickstarter and got all that I was owed. It is a great game and I think the new owners intend to really back it it well.

PzGeneral28 May 2019 7:54 a.m. PST

I back KS too. I got more in value than I paid, but not everything I was owed. If I remember, I didn't get the Harvester, the downed Landing Cylinder and two other things.
