Hi
Forgive me if this topic has been raised before but I just need to ask a quick question. I'm starting a dark age project and considering 6mm. I like the Baccus ranges of Vikings and Saxons and may well order a couple of their armies very soon. But I also like the Heroics and Ross Dark Age range especially their Viking longships and the crews. Does anyone know if H&R and Baccus ranges mix well together should I decide to order both. Thanks

I have some of Baccus' Vikings and lots of H&R's figs from other ranges. I don't have H&R dark ages, so can't compare directly, so take the following with that in mind.

I really like both lines, but I wouldn't generally mix them in an army, the styles are quite different. H&R are much skinnier in general and not quite as detailed.

One place I did mix the two ranges in my Late Republican Roman army was to use H&R artillery when the rest of the force were Baccus figs. As separate units, the differences are less notable. You might be able to do something similar with Vikings if you just use H&R for the ships and crews.

I think that's sound advice. Thanks

Don't have Dark Age 6mm, but do have ACW and Napoleonics from both Baccus and H+R. Certainly would never put them on the same bases, but my ACW Rebs are all H+R and the Union are Baccus, Adler and other makes and I happily pit the two forces against each other.

Big difference in size with Baccus/H&R.

H&R were originally sold as 5mm so their figures will look tiny. You do have a bit of luck with the ship's crew,I seem to recall they were by Kremlin Miniatures and are closer to 7mm high.

Here's a link with pictures to the Kremlin page.
