Major Mike, I hate to hear that they closed the Armor Museum at Fort Knox. When I lived in Kentucky I visited it at least a half a dozen times. It was a true gem. |

My favorite Museum ever is the Milwaukee County Museum, which is an amazing Museum for it's size and budget. As a boy it opened the world to me and I enjoy it to this day. The old streets of Milwaukee was a particular favorite, though I loved the world rooms that show off areas around the world. As for military museums, my tops is the Imperial War Museum, with the Museum of the US Air Force close behind. I enjoyed the Royal Air Force Museum at Hendon, the US Marine Museum, the American Heritage Museum (Collings Collection) and Battleship Park in Fall River, Massachusetts. Other great Museums I've enjoyed are The British Museum, The Hermitage and Museum of Art in Milwaukee. Does Edinburgh Castle count? I love that place. Would love to get to Bovington and Duxford. |

All in the UK – Imperial War Museum Royal Navy Museum – Greenwich Bovington Tank Museum Albert & Victoria Natural History Museum And then – State Historical and Memorial Preserve The Battle of Stalingrad (Not one building but oh so many sites…) Militia Museum, Kharkiv (Not so much the museum as (in the late 1990's) talking with the old guys who'd been in the WW2 battles and their sons who were the tour guides). Central Armed Forces Mueseum in Moscow. Boy do these guys try hard. Well worth if if you're a tread head. Another Moscow Museum – The "Streletskiye Palaty" if you prefer the swords, muskets and pikes end of military history. Amazing stuff. |

A lot to choose from. US? The Smithsonian's Air&Space hangar at Dulles, DC UK? The new IWM galleries, London, UK (The National Museum, Scotland in Edinburgh is a very close second.) Europe? The Cloth Hall Museum, Ypres, Belgium (The German History Museum in Berlin would be my number 2.) Canada? The Canadian War Museum, Ottawa Asia? The Te Papa Museum, Wellington, NZ Africa? The Museum of Antiquities, Cairo, Egypt I've visited all of these. Many others that are superb too, but I found these exceptional. |

The Unlimited Hydroplane Racing Museum in Kent, WA-because, well, hydroplanes. The National Museum of Art in Washington DC because of its calming design. The Seattle Museum of Flight because of their excellent collection—and once a year they let us game under the SR-71 in the great gallery. |
