I am starting a new project where I am doing a Napoleonic project with each unit representing a battalion. For my Prussian 3 battalion regiments, what type of standard would be carried by the 2nd and 3rd battalions. Thanks

After the disaster of 1806, the much smaller Prussian Army was reorganised with 12 Line infantry regiments. These contained two battalions of musketeers and one of fusiliers. Only the musketeers battalions carried colours. When the grenadiers were were later taken out of these regiments to form their own regiments, they also carried colours. The quickest way to see what they were, as they do not follow a ‘pattern,' is to go to the Napflags page of the Warflags website, which shows the post 1896 flags regiment by regiment. The reserve regiments which were later converted into line for the Waterloo campaign did not carry flags before the war ended. Hope this is helpful.

Here's the direct link to the post-1806 Prussian flags on WarFlag: link

Although it says that the 12 reserve regiments were not issued flags until 1815, I have them flagged for my 1813 Prussians, using flags from their stammregiments (parent regiments). Also the six line grenadier battalions did have flags and those are illustrated there.

Of course all of this information is subject to revelations from new research. grin

The short version is regiments 1-12 ( the 2nd Silesian regiment is the last in number) only the musketeer battalions were issued flags, and the grenadiers.
Any more your stepping on toes.

But it's yours, flag them if you want of course.
