From a 20 year veteran online store owner -

If you still have an AOL email account, please, please, please, check your spam box before inquiring about the status of an order.

9 times out of 10, AOL spam bins order and shipping emails.

Second, most modern webstores will send you tracking information in the shipping confirmation. Typically, you will see it in an email and also if you log into your webstore account you will see the tracking there in the order record of interest.

Third, if inquiring about your order, include your full name, order number and date. That certainly makes it easier to find.

Fourth, if it says on my contact page that I work during the day and that using the contact system is faster, do not call the number during the work day. Nor call me multiple times in a row during the work day thinking I am going to pick up. I wrote the part about using the contact system, which is right below the phone number, to help you get in contact with me.

Most of us have set up FAQs and/or an Order Info page. Most of your questions can typically be answered there.

My other word of advice is get a free gmail account. Then have your order emails go there instead of AOL and save yourself all the hassle.

Thanks!

As I have been in IT for over 25 years, the issues caused from AOL all around are just maddening at times. At one point I really think it was a cult ;-)

Grimm – I will look forward to chatting at the next con.

AOL is still going strong, thanks to Verizon. If you have a Verizon email account, its really an AOL account.

All good points Lon. In fact you will be getting an order from me later on today.

As an Exchange\ Email admin (starting with Exchange 5.5) I can't tell you all the problems that I've had with AOL. I'm just glad they're not the dominant email provider that they once were.
