There was a review about the skytrex model but the blog has gone AWOL. Anyone knows how Skytrex model compares to Zvezda's or Battlefront's models? thank you |

continuing thus the exploration on the T-72 theme. Which do you think will fit together with Zvezda's T-72s? khurasan miniatures, Skytrex, QRF? |

QRF is a bit small compared to the others I think. Have you looked at Khurasan's? link

Yes, it is a very nice looking piece of kit. How does it compare in size to BF and Zvezda (have both already)? |

Khurasan is compatible with BF and Zvezda. Skytrex also I believe. |

The Khurasan model is a very close match to the BF model, and a close match to Zvezda. |

thank you all, eventually I went full Zvezda even though the models have their own shortcomings (no open hatch, no second gun). Soviets are not my main army or focus so their reasonable price helped in the decision. I will explore further Skytrex and Khurasan for my next project. |

Zvezda are a great model for what it is, and being only two parts are easy to assemble. |

If you're finicky about size compatibility then why not just stick with Battlefront? BF T-72's are reasonably priced. You can get one for $7.50 USD via GF9's Tanks Modern Age Expansion Pack: link That's cheaper than Khurasan's T-72 ($13.99) and comparable to Skytrex's (£5.42 or $6.97 USD) and Zvezda's ($7.50 and higher). Though Zvezda is not an apples-to-apples comparison because it's a T-72B with Kontakt-5 ERA which did not appear until 1988 and lacks the anti-aircraft machinegun and smoke dischargers.

The Zvezda model looks better in my eyes. I am not so much fielding what the text book says but more what is appealing to me. I will have 3 x BF models and 8 x Zveda's. I am fine now with my decision. Again thanks all for the advice and feedback, |

I have 40x T-72's in three distinct variants for my Soviets: 20x BF T-72A's, 10x Zvezda T-72B's obr 1988 with Kontakt-5, plus 10x Skytrex T-72B's with Kontakt-1 (see pic below). I think the resin and metal Skytrex T-72 may be my favorite among the three. I guess I like tiled brick style ERA.

Ok, I give in! It does indeed look super tempting… Do you have a top picture side by side of the Zvezda model and the Skytrex model? |

Sorry, I don't at this time. My Zvezda and Skytrex T-72's are currently at a painting service waiting to be painted. It may take a while (months) before I get them back depending on the priorities and scheduling of their other projects. The Skytrex model is a close enough match for me. The only manufacturer that's noticeably smaller is QRF. The pic above is actually Googled. If you can wait, I'll post pics when I get them back. Can't say when though. |
