Hi all,

Some months ago I saw (in a book?) an alarming WW1-era French diagram, which showed in a striking way the costs to infantry of attacking a single MG. To the best of my recollection, the diagram portrayed attacking infantry moving from left to right, as a steadily shrinking human figure – showing the horrifying mounting losses experienced by those troops as they advanced into the teeth of MG fire.

Any chance anyone knows the diagram, and a location where I could consult it? I am pulling out my hair here, trying to remember where I saw it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I'd like to see that as well as I just painted some Early War French and have been reading up on doctrine.

I'd also like to see that!

Well no charging in the open[or anywhere else !] against an MG was what we were taught. But that was 60 years after WWI … evil grin
