Not exactly the 'anti-state' and 'ethnic' unrest that aljazeera describes. They did note that in March the UN had 150 aid workers vs the 16,000 including peacekeepers in neighboring Mali. And 3,000 of the peacekeepers are from Burkhina Faso…

As an aside, incidents like this are the reason I cautioned a female fellow parishioner about going to Ghana along with her younger teenage daughter to do volunteer work.

I haven't heard that this is happening there and it might well be quite safe, but the potential for spillover is still there.

On the other hand, when she did get a new job it was in Florida just before Irma hit…

The church I attend sponsors Christian missionaries there.
