You were asked – TMP link In miniature wargaming, what is the primary cause of the game slowing down and players being bored? In the final round: 36% said "players who ignore the game until it's their turn" 22% said "not familiar with the rules" 17% (tie) said "non-game-related conversations" OR "arguing about the rules" |

While the players are ultimately responsible for not paying attention a good GM should keep them on their toes and announce, in a very loud voice, "your turn is coming up, pay attention". Too many GM's end up yaking it up with the players and losing sight of their role, to keep the game moving. He can also impact he "non-related conversations" but sometimes that requires taking a stern approach to some of the usual suspects. |
