Yup. Can deliver Marines, can provide medical support for humanitarian operations, can deploy helicopters or even fighters (depending on exact class). Submarines are pretty highly optimized to sneak up and kill things. Carriers are almost as versatile as LPDs, but don't have the big Marine contingent. |
