I'm having a problem fixing Chapter icons to the shoulder pads of my Space Marines, due to the rounded nature of the pads. I've been using Humbrol decal fix, but the transfers don't seem to want to mould themselves to the curvature of the pads. I did put a layer of gloss varnish underneath beforehand as well. Any ideas? |

Slitting the decal in a few places around the edges sometimes will allow it to mould to the curved pad. Decal film tends not to bend in two directions at once so a slit allows each segment to bend independent of the adjacent piece. Position the slits on clear parts if you can. |

Micro Sol, Solvaset or Mr. Mark Softer is what you need. They melt the transfer, so it moulds itself to the surface. In the case of SM shoulderpads, you probably need 2-4 applications. You can find these at any Model store. |
