Are we sure they didn't mean "pathological" instead?

I mean, he did have a female "minder" on board, and had to make decisions by committee, unlike Kirk, who could do so independently, on the fly.

I agree with Panzerfaust. Sounds like a snooze-fest, which only die-hard Trekkies can love, based upon this quote:

The thing that bored me to death about Next Gen was all the endless talk. So to have another Star Trek series just a verbose is a turn off for me…
