If anyone around fond of naval flags history as I am too, here there go my broodings about those used in the War of Spanish Succession by both claimants to the throne of Spain -a particularly obscure period IMHO. I've put my thoughts in clear as some kind of flags plate, showing up to four different main hypothesis (although admittedly I could extract even a fifth one).
As you can see there, on the Bourbon side things are quite well settled, while on the Habsburg side it all seems to fade out when one starts exploring a particular hypothesis. Please feel free to add your own opinions and musings on the matter. Perhaps someone knows something I don't? Thanks! |
