I really like BtQ, and have played the 4.01 variant. Don't know if it is the same set of rules though, since you mentioned 2.0. I can't recall the name of the person that wrote the other one about two decades, or so ago. |

I love the look of the hulls and the ratlines. |

Nice! They look big: I wonder what scale they are. Website didn't provide any details on the ships. |

Thanks all. Scale is 1:300 (ships from Old Glory, masts/sails are 3D printed). Rules are home brew (free download) even though there is an older set with the same name. |

Painted up nicely. Always wanted to see what they looked like painted up. At this scale I would like more rigging, though I would probably go nuts doing it. I do add more rigging on my 1/2000 Valiants….. |

The first "Beat to Quarters" was published in 1981 by Command Perspectives of San Diego, CA. It was designed by Barry Fox, who later became the Age of Sail editor of "The Courier" wargame magazine. A trademark for the name was applied for, in 1981, but I don't know what happened on that. I recently read that the head of the company died a few years ago. Personally, I'd come up with an original name for a new game. That said, if you don't try to sell it, it shouldn't matter. Keep gaming! |
