Ok, so I played my first game of "Five Leagues From The Borderlands" from Nordic Weasel Games this morning (yes, I am aware Ivan is unpopular around here but I like him.) It went smoothly. It's got a bit of a "Confrontation" vibe with deployment close to attack range and opposed attack rolls, but the mechanical order feels GW (rolls to hit, wound, save, etc. although not exactly the same.)
Anyway, I rolled up eight nomads without a leader ambushing my warband as the base scenario. I decided that Our Heroes were just finishing up getting themselves ready for the day at their campsite when the nomads emerged from the morning fog. You can read the rest on my blog at link |

Sounds like a fun little skirmish. The campaign rules would add a lot as well. We play a lot of LASERSTORM here by Nordic Weasel. A lot faster than Epic Armageddon, though I enjoy both. Just wish LaserStorm was better known and NW had put out army lists for this like FWC did so you could play in the Epic, Ogre, Renegade Legion, and other settings. |

Why is Ivan unpopular? Did I miss something? |

Yeah, what's up with Ivan? His games are often recommended and I thought he was respected. |

He's got a locked account, so something must have happened o.0 |

A locked account doesn't mean unpopular. Just means an issue between him and Bill. :P |
