Yeah, a good/interesting video, that. Watched it a while ago. I like both 'The Chieftan' and 'Lindybiege', so it's fun seeing them work together. |

Legin4, you need to quit judging Japanese armor by 1944 European War standards. For their intended purpose (bolstering the infantry against the Chinese) and taking Japanese industrial capacity and priorities into account, they were certainly adequate. |

If you have read my previous posts on this topic I generally did take those factors into consideration, etc. But as I and others have said there is a reason the M4 Sherman was the called "The Panther of the Pacific". But yes they were effective against the Chinese military and guerillas. And even at Khaklin-Gol, to a point. However, when the USSR turned East after the Allied defeat of Germany. What little armor the IJFs' had could not stand up to a high tech, "modern" mechanized army. So if you just compare WWII Armor across the board, as I have. And has been said by others who are real historians, not me. The IJ ground forces' equipment was generally not anywhere near to the standard of many other Armies. And they did little to improve it thru out the war.
IMO, being a former Light and Mech Infantry Officer. I'd rather not have equipment that is "adequate". Just my opinion … so it really means nothing in the long run.
