This poll isn't about consideration of the larger scales, like 1/100th, and bigger, but is more about trying to gain an understanding of the number of people using the smaller scales of minis for their grav armor battles.

So, with that explanation, which scale(s) do you prefer for company to battalion-plus sized actions?

1. 6mm miniatures

2. 3mm miniatures

3. I use both 6mm and 3mm miniatures

I'm only interested in answers about the above scales, so sorry, there is no need for poll options like, I don't use any of them for Sci-Fi gaming. Only those that actually use one or more of these scales need respond.

I'd like to get a rough idea of how many people are using the above scales, and/or their relative ratios to one another.

6mm only.

Been a long time, but Centurion in 6mm for me. System could use some narrowing down, but has excellent integration of ground, arty, and air units.

I have 15mm and 6mm, but I've been looking at 3mm for WWII.

Valderian01 May 2019 10:54 a.m. PST

6mm, but I will try it soon in 3mm, since it worked nice for WW2 (Oddzial Osmy)

6mm mostly. Ogre and BattleTech Alpha Strike.

10mm(1/144) for company sized Battledroids Alpha Strike.

6mm Dirt Side and maybe tempted Hammer Slammers in 6mm

jfleisher01 May 2019 2:43 p.m. PST

6mm, all my terrain and buildings are scaled for it.

Usually 1:300 miniatures scale and 1:1000 ground scale.

I think that must be 6mm miniatures. 6mm x 300 =1,800mm well within normal height range for contemporary human males.

Does that make sense?

I have a bunch of the PFC in C Renegade legion 1/285 vehicles, they are beautiful.

Have been using 15mm for Hammer Slammers, but changing to 6mm for area considerations.

6mm – Longtime DS2 player :)

kodiakblair04 May 2019 1:21 a.m. PST

2mm for me.

KJdidit04 May 2019 7:02 a.m. PST

6mm for the listed action sizes; 3mm for when I want to field more than a supported battalion.

Aotrs Commander07 May 2019 8:22 a.m. PST

I use 144th (10/12mm), which is the neglected step-child (12mm doesn't even get it's own board…!), despite being pretty much an ideal scale in terms of model space/price and required terrain density. (And on a day-game, can easily get up to above company level.)

Technically BattleTech, which I more infrquently play is 300/285th, so there is also that.
