Nine out of ten, because I've been reading about it for 50 years but know nothing of poetry.

Burns had a bad leg that prevented his serving in the Napoleonic wars? He died in 1796.

Moreover, Burns- essentially pacifist in outlook but with the standard issue of two good legs- joined a local Volunteer unit, The Dumfries Volunteers, formed in January 1795.

The farmer, exciseman, and poet, left an umblemished serivice record and after his untimely death was buried with military honours on July 24 1796.

They may have meant Gordy Byron, who had a club foot.
