Here is the latest addition to my Cruel Seas collection, a Steam Gun Boat (SGB). The British had 7 of these built between 1940 and 1942, mainly escorting the North Sea convoys. It is my first experience of commissioning a 3D printed model and I'm very happy with it.

"Mainly escorting North Sea convoys"? You should have a look at Peter Scott's autobiography.

I've printed this in 1/600, it's a very nice model

Thanks gents.
4D Jones, I was reading about their intended use when they were ordered in 1940, I hadn't realised that they were the gun boats Peter Scott served on! Thanks for the heads up.

Sunj,
That is a nice addition! They all got names mid war with the first name "Gray" like Gray Goose. I ran across one in resin but can't find it now. Something like Eagle was the manufacturer.

Cheers

Joe

Joe, in the RN that gray would be "Grey …"

Got it!
Thanks

Joe, that was probably a White Ensign resin and etched brass kit in 1:350, now available from Atlantic Models. A very nicely detailed kit, but it's £30.00 GBP!

I've now added a camouflage pattern to my SGB

I think you are right; ouch! Now I know why I didn't buy it at the time.
Thanks

Joe
