"Your wargame group." Topic

What size is the group of players you normally play with? Is your wargame group a squad, a platoon? My experience is that successful wargames clubs that make platoon size- within a year fracture into smaller groups- those that play DBA or move to another set of rules, or refuse to rebase. The Spartans split and the Barbarian club moves over to the next pub.

Two different questions.

Size of our club is about 150.

The group of players I normally game with is 4 to 8. It varies.

Our club has about 20 or so members, and we usually have 10-15 at any session. We play 5 or 6 different games with very little cross over, but we like it that way! Everyone is friendly.

8 regulars. We have a hired room with 24/7 access so can play anytime.

About a dozen

Not sure how many total members we have. I'm a primary GM for Monday nights. Our bigger games run on Wednesdays. Thursdays is for smaller games and boardgames. Then ad-hoc gaming happens any other time people feel like. We have a club house with multiple tables, storage and a fridge.

Typical game is 6-10 players. We routinely get 10-15 people most nights, though the people vary with the night.

My club consists of one member and he only shows up sporadically.

No club. Three or four other gamers and myself that play
Pathfinder every 1 to 2 months. Twice a year, two friends
visit from out of town and we play something historical.
Could be worse I guess.

Basically a fireteam, with dreams of being a squad

We have a supported squad, 12 regulars and a couple of infrequent gamers. Usually we get at least 8 or more out every Thursday. Four of our chaps gah ave games rooms that we alternate playing at. Most of us 20+ years.

There is a club 30 minutes to 90 minutes south of me (Winter/Summer) that I have not been to in over a year now. That group is 8 or so regulars and 30 total I believe. Most of my gaming is with a couple guys online and one player for FTF – all board wargames these days.

A weak platoon, not all present every week, and playing several games of an evening.

I used to be a member of a 100 strong club.

I would usually play with a few best friends within that club but very occasionally maybe a dozen or so.

I now play solo (I'm pretty old now) but I have a couple of mates who come to play now and again.

I have a grandson comin up to 3 years old. I'm hoping to make him a wargamer if I live long enough.

No club, just an under strength squad of 7

Our small club which plays at my house is 4 members, but we're hoping to grow it.

Most of my stuff is solo, but once I year I play wargames with fifty or so other wargamers over a weekend. We are all member of the same group, which numbers just under one hundred.

18 people in the Guildford club – somewhere around 10-12 turn up each week for 3-6 games…

No club but a comfortable group of 5-8 who meet twice a week

I believe the club has about 65 members but split into fire teams or squads. I usually am a sniper but occasionally am part of a weapons team.

4ish people in one informal group. I belong to two moderately sized clubs (several dozen people in each) but only play with a fist full of people from each once a month of club days

Used to be four of us playing weekly, either my home or another guy's. Two have gotten out of the hobby altogether, and another is busy running a hobby related business. That leaves me playing solo or drafting my reasonably willing son in law to game with me.

Three of the 7 guys and one of the 1 guy overlap with the 20 guys, but not often.

I believe our club has some 200 "Regular" members with some 40-60 turning up each week.
There seems to be about 15-20 games each club night of pretty much every sort imaginable.

We have a loose group without club status the plays most weeks. We communicate games coming up or being considered, meet for one game at a time in a couple of places, with anywhere from two to ten players. Just depends on the game being played.

We have 50 people on the mailing list. Ten or so show up once a month.

We have just over 40 members in the group.
Somewhere between 6 and 10 usually show up for a game twice a month.

Our group, which met informally at our FLGS, was about 30 in number. After the shop's demise it splintered to various folks homes. We maintain a loose contact and often try to mass but it is usually 4-6 guys at someone's home. The faction to which I belong tries to game each Sunday. So, a fire team which occasionally joins an under strength platoon.

I am part of 2 small groups one of 6 and one of 12+ They are part of a larger regional group of 300+
