When you have a scenario with wild beasts do your soldiers ever wind up on the menu?

Usually not. I did have one game where there were logs (actual twigs that I'd harvested) floating in a swamp. When enough soldiers were in or at the edges of the swamp, the logs were revealed to be that planet's version of crocodiles, which immediately attacked the closest personnel.

Everybody was in Traveller battle dress, so no one was in danger of being eaten, but turns and surprise were lost and there were some steam explosions from firing fusion guns near the water.

Yeah, last week in fact. Only in fantasy/scifi/pulp scenarios, though.

Real world cannibals (societies, psychopaths, etc.) don't eat people during tactical engagements, so while the forces could be "on the menu", that wouldn't happen during the game. I suppose you could start a scenario with the cannibals surprised during a meal.

It's a possible feature of soem SF scenarios I played and planned – usually an added "bonus" to sweep and clear missions is findign a samll nest of local pack hunters, ambush predators or so forth.

Sometimes, if playing certain alien species. But lunch comes after the bullets and laser beams stop flying.

Well some of the aliens I have are said to eat the enemies' death. E.g. the Tau Kroot allies, etc. But generally the game would end before the feasting begins …

I guess if you're doing a cannibal scenario, a good starting point would be shortly before food preparation, while the food is still alive and capable of being rescued.
