The dark colored ironclads are tricky, sort of hard to see here, but grey primer, washes of gun metal, black, and some rust and I think it came out pretty good!

Next the Nahant and Tennessee…my goal is to slowly build-up to Mobile Bay!

Nicely done! If I may ask, what material/techniques did you use for the rigging?

Simple nylon thread, run through beeswax. Works on bigger ship models, figure it would work here. Also, covered in a final flat clear coat, which stiffens a bit more.
