I am looking at putting together the armies for GOT, and trying to figure out what ranges to use.

I have already joined the kickstarter for Forgotten World which covers the armies of the north and undead (with a few other figures thrown in).

I was thinking of using Foundry Huns, for Dothraki, unless anyone can recommend anything better,

But what do people think about the other armies, and now the army of Gold?

thanks

Jules

Have you considered some of GW's Middle Earth stuff?

Then again, GW's pricing for Australia might rule that out …

Cherry,

Other than the figs for A Song of Ice and Fire, conversions aplenty.
I suggest you join LAF and then search for "game of thrones" and see the wonderful threads on this very topic.

Indeed do what Grimm said!

I always liked the idea of using Perry or similar War of the Roses era figures for Lannisters because they were the richest faction and likely had the most up-to-date weapons and armor.

Ha Tom, first time those specific words have ever been uttered.

All plastics, since I find it easiest to covert….

The North (Starks and then Boltons) – lots of padded armour, with mail and partial plate for Nobles. (Perry 100 years war)

Lannisters – lots of partial and full plate. (Perry Late medieval/war of the roses)

Iron Isles – Scandinavians (Fireforge Scandinavians)

The Reach (Arryn)- lots of partial plate and full plate. (seem to prefer open helms)….actually the Baratheons and Tyrell would also be similar to the Lannisters and Arryn. partial plate/mail and full plate for the nobles. (mix of Perry HYW and WOTR)

Dorn (Martell)- Arabs (Gripping Beast)

Nightwatch- Frostgrave soldiers

Wildlings- Frostgrave Barbarians
