Comments or corrections?

I have a couple of questions about FFS following a quick playtest of the River Plate

1. The rules say if guns can't penetrate armour the max damage they can do is Light.
If such a gun does a second Light Damage can it escalate to heavy?

2. The list of combat modifiers on P15 says that a ship has a DF of -1 for Light damage -2 for Heavy Damage and -4 for Crippled.
The table on P17 has 0,-1 and -3 respectively for these damage states. Which is correct?

Thanks

It looks like it should be the latter.

I think the factors which are affecting the firer have been listed on the target.

how did your playtest go?

1) No, failure to penetrate can only cause Light damage. If the target has already reached this damage state it doesn't escalate

2) Th modifiers on P17 are correct. As Kevan says the ones on P15 are the shooter's mods and are thus incorrect.

Well done for being the first to spot that, scary to think that had been there in the draft for months, and through all the playtest teams and nobody spotted it until now!

I shall issue an amendment tonight.<EDIT – just completed>

That was a quick response – new version downloaded thanks.

I cut short my playtest when Graf Spee received Light damage because of my uncertainty about what would happen if it got Light damage again. So to be continued now I know the answer.

@Doomed

Can we download a new version? How did you get authorization to do that? I have the old version.

OK; I have successfully downloaded the new version with the correction on page 15. :-)

Finally got round to trying this again.

End result was Exeter heavily damaged and Light Damage inflicted on Graf Spee and Ajax.

At which point I decided that A & A would keep their distance as they couldn't get close enough to inflict any heavier damage on GS
