One of three games to feature at this month's gathering of the DWG was this Chain of Command game setting a Belgian supply column against a German ambush force attempting to stop its passage through the bush.
A really fun game was had by all that reached a perfect climax as both forces engaged in a bit of fisticuffs right at the end to determine the victor. If you would like to know more then just follow the link to the club blog. link Jonathan (JJ) |

Great looking game. What changes did you make to the basic rules and what support options did you use? TIA Phil |

Thanks chaps. As mentioned in the post not a lot of change other than we dropped the patrol phase, but other than that we played the rules straight, with seven Belgian squads vs six German and with the blue coated Askari using older rifles than their colleagues with a slightly reduced firing ability. It felt rather like Sharp Practice Meets CoC. |

You saying that the participants engaged in fisticuffs or the game ended in hand-to-hand? JK |

Great pictures and AAR. The Great War in Africa always makes for a good looking game. Thanks for sharing. |

Looks like an excellent game! East Africa WW1 is ideal for these kinds of small-unit actions, and the bush/jungle always adds an element all its own to the experience. One of my favorite eras and theatres. |
