Guys,

I've been researching the Royal Navy's Operation Gun and Newt, for background info to base an upcoming Cruel Seas scenario on, and found the following preview snippet from the book – Radar at Sea: The Royal Navy in World War 2, by Derek Howse.

The below URL (I hope) will link you to the Appendix section starting on page 301 – this viewing will also remove pages from reading, and more so apparently when you access it repeatedly, but hopefully there's enough to view that might be interesting. (the scenario planned will draw on the combined RN & USN MTB flotillas that operated in this area off Western Italy in 1944, using the superior US radar capabilities of their PT boats to augment RN patrols.

You can also find a discussion about the joint operations in Bulkley's book "At Close Quarters"

Check the link below and look for Operation Gun on page 307.

The book has a lot of information for potentially interesting scenarios.

You guys might want to check out "Motor Gunboat 658" by L.C. Reynolds. He went from midshipman to the commander of MGB 658 in a MGB flotilla in the Med. He discusses these ops from a first hand POV.

MJ, thanks for the book recommendation (bought his book on Med. MTBs At War, which got me excited about doing these Mediterranean ops)!

Something wanted boat-wise too, and announced as a future Warlord release, will be a LCG(L) model -
