With a shwoosh of clackers, and a dusting-ioff of the family jewels the Galatians take to the table in five separate match reports against the Romans, Germans, Seleukids (twice) and the (who the f--- are the?) Blemmye, in the post-tournament report from Bournemouth earlier this spring.
There is of course the usual mix of captions, videos, both handy and unhelpful rules-related hints and poor quality humour throughout. This time however you also get a specially themed report of one of the battles which features extensive references to the 1970's Bay City Rollers knock-offs from Bradford, "Smokie" – not for the faint-hearted, so if you are easily offended please feel free to skip report number four! Go on – get your undercarriage out into the fresh air this lovely spring morning, lie back and enjoy these five fine reports !

Good AAR's. I did not realize how much profanity could be written into a single AAR. |

Very nice. Congrats on the victory. How does a light horse army fair in ADLG? I haven't seen you play one of those yet. |

Playing different armies and styles is something I really enjoy about ADLG – but all mounted shooty isn't a style I've gotten round to using in competitions yet. It's certainly viable but needs a certain play style to be used – I'll get round to it soon! |

Love to see that report. Swarms of light horse, shooting and evading and just generally pissing off the other player. You might have Ozzy Man review it. :) If you don't know who he is, check him out on you tube. |

I've not seen a true light horse army. Most people seem to stick to 6 LH max and use medium/heavy cavalry bow instead. Not sure how an army like Numidians gets played. |

I think that's because in ADLG "Medium Cavalry" aren't a fundamentally different troop type to "Light Horse" – they are just a slightly more chunky and combat-happy grade of "skirmishing and shooting Cavalry" I think DBMM has also moved away from the idea that LH are a totally different troop type to MCv as well with a category of LH who can charge home quite effectively against some types of foot, so it's not unique to ADLG to think of them as both being on a continuum rather than being totally separate In fact, thinking of them as totally separate troop types is probably one of those old Wargamers tropes where we start to believe what was written in WRG 4th edition was actual history rather than just something made up in a game written before we were as sophisticated at game design as we are now! |

Bloody fabulous battle reports Madaxeman Cheers Matt |

Madaxeman, I don't disagree with that at all. There are some army lists in ADLG where the LH is either the only skirmishing horse or the numbers of medium horse are restricted, leaving LH the primary skirmishing horse. Those are what I mean by true LH armies and the LH usually gets minimised as much as possible when I would like to see them embraced. |

I find it's 2 (for the scouting point), 3 (to have more than 2,) or 6 (for the extra scouting point. Hard to justify any more than that really |

That's what I tend to see. We have a player who likes 4 for a square of +1 shooting. |
