Well none are from GW so they probably are.

Torquemada11 Apr 2019 1:38 a.m. PST

None are from Hasslefree so they probably aren't … ,-)

But there are some really good ones in there, especially Statuesque, as well as Wargames Exclusive, but WE have far better ones than in that list.

You could have a top ten from Hasslefree alone!

Insomniac11 Apr 2019 4:16 a.m. PST

The lack of Hasslefree on the list, means that it can't be a realistic top ten.

Pictors Studio11 Apr 2019 5:20 a.m. PST

I would guess that the top ten female figures probably all come from the game Infinity.

Torquemada11 Apr 2019 5:32 a.m. PST

I disagree that Infinity alone would/should fill the top ten, but it is another very surprising omission and should certainly be represented in such a list.

Biomckill11 Apr 2019 6:39 a.m. PST

I'm afraid that Infinity has a well deserved reputation of, hmmm, exotic female figures, but being as bad as it is (even ridiculous), other companies are worse. Take a look at Brother Vinni's Postapoc Raider Girl… or their whole range of ActionGirls. And those Wargame Exclusive minis their selected are not the most, hmmm, exotic of the lot. There are better minis from the Greater Good range.

The Wargames Exclusive (aka Ukrainian Forgeworld) figures are practically GW figures intended for 40K, and the glaring omission of Corvus Belli (Infinity), Hasslefree, Victoria Miniatures and Raging Heroes hinted that the author intended to avoid the well known "successful" lines in favor of relative obscure manufacturers. And he also likes female minis with guns as long as they are tall apparently.

Private Matter11 Apr 2019 8:09 a.m. PST

Not even close to being the top ten in my book. A quick scan of Hasslefree and/or Bad Squiddo would come up with far better figures. Of course that is only my opinion, so therefore it is 100% accurate.

williamb11 Apr 2019 8:48 a.m. PST

Definitely not the top ten. There are better ones from many manufacturers.

Asking for a top 10 female figures is like asking for a top ten real life ladies.

Some people like blondes, some brunettes, some redheads, some baldies. Some don't care about hair color, but are more fixated on a particular body part, whether breasts, bum, or face. Some people like personality (humorous, serious, giddy, flirtatious…) over appearance.

So it is with figures – some like undressed, some like dressed, some like action poses, some like 'exotic dancer' poses, etc.

So any Top 10 list will have to be entirely subjective, based on the person looking.

The complete lack of Infinity in the list is surprising. I would have expected at least one Infinity mini in there.

No Hasslefree minis is another surprise.

I will agree with Knight Models, though. Those are excellent minis.

Pictors Studio11 Apr 2019 8:51 p.m. PST

Some of the older infinity girls had a tendency towards ridiculousness. The newer models certainly don't.

at least most of them don't. Some are still out there.

The Tech-bee is a fairly old model, though. The original concept was one of the first of the 'Bootleg' range from ~2012 or so, and I think the Crabbot dates to about 2014.

Biomckill12 Apr 2019 3:11 a.m. PST

I have already expressed my opinion, but I have to stick up for Corvus Belli. We are from the same region, share the same culture, etc. Though a lot has been written and said about Infinity's minis sexism (read the Impetuous Order blog, for example), they are NOT by far the worse company. Brother Vinni's is creepy, and even the Ukrainian Forgeworld goes further than Infinity. Check the range of female minis there and compare with the Infinity minis.

Infinity has much more exposure. But there are worse things out there…

That list's #1 is not 28mm by any stretch of the ruler.
