So, Project-ADD has kicked in, and I've decided to revive my 15mm Vietnam work.

Does anyone have some good suggestions for proxies suitable for early-60's ARVN troops? M1/M2 carbines, M1 Garands, BAR's, etc?

I'm aware of Peter Pig ARVN with M14's, but not much else that would be suitable. 15mm Pacific Theater would be great, but I'm unfamiliar with available ranges.

Take a look at qualitycasting from Old Glory 15 ( not Old Glory) they are a touch smaller than PP so their WW2 stuff might work

There are several companies making 15mm WWII US Marines. I would go that route. QC (as mentioned) are smaller castings, which would give a decent approximation of the size of the Vietnamese as compared to a Free World soldier. But I think they would also be smaller in terms of equipment compared to other ranges.

I think Matchlock figures are smaller, but not as small as QC. They have many poses in their range:

I think equipment issues for smaller ("true" 15mm) would be less of an issue because its fairly unlikely to have both ARVN & US troops armed with Garands or Carbines on the table at once. Though I guess it depends on how early you go…

Damon.

Has anyone seen the Flashpoint CIDG Strikers? I can't seem to find any images online. I checked out QC and Matchlock, but I'm not really fond of the sculpting.

Keep the suggestions coming, if anyone has more!

I might give Eureka's Indochina French a try as well. The MAT49's look a lot like M3's, and the MAS36's could be made to resemble an M2 with the addition of a magazine.

In the Eureka line there are two poses with carbines already. I own some of this range and they are nice figures.
