We do not owe good a good time, nor do we owe you victory. I do not care how much you dislike these rules, and if you do not like said rules….. Why the hell are you playing in this game? I am not interested in being coached, I can count to six and I know my left from my right. If you are going to watch… do so QUIETLY!If you set a time, do not be late. If you are going to be late, text some one. I am rather tired of suffering nut jobs. We have run off three such nut jobs and yet another has grown in our midst. I grow tired of weeding, yet I like the lawn. Thank you for listening. |

Rotundo, despite the mirth I do agree that players can sometimes be a real nuisance. Sometimes it is a particular person whom offends all. Sometimes it is a fellow who is having a bad day or just cannot see your point of view. There is often a shortage of opponents in terms of numbers. Playing the same opponent continuously can make one jaded. maybe "play them in" if a new player, with a short, easy access game . This will show you what they are "like". One should also be careful not to "railroad" opponents by "grabbing" the choice of game, scenario , soldiers, rules etc. I bore of any game in which I have had no input . I would not want to play games where my input is peripheral.I like to have an equal say in what rules, scenario, period and command decisions happen. There are always plenty of potential opponents out there from which to choose. Sometimes you need to make the first move by getting to stores, shows and contact groups. Best wishes for your future gaming! |

Martin, we have events every 4-6 weeks. All people are on their best behavior until 6-8 months in. Then the change begins. This guy was an area guy who was a tournament maven who made the switch to "casual gaming". Last night he completely ruined a fun pulp game because, well…..I do not care why. Seven guys giggling like schoolgirls and one Donkey. Helping lead a big group is rewarding, but some people just ain't worth it. |

I can't stand MOST gamers – too much like me. |

LOL – I couldn't make it yesterday, Pat (working all weekend), but I have an idea of whom you're talking about. Too funny. |

I am afraid you have me at a disadvantage. I cannot figure out who you may be. Perhaps a hint if not full disclosure? |

I have to point out there are not "always plenty of potential opponents." Not around here. |

I agree that folk might be more sparse in some areas. So no insult intended there (smiley face). "Potential" would include those that might take up gaming if your group did some "intro" sessions. I have put on games at schools, scouts troops, non-gaming shows, public events etc to find those who might take up the hobby. A lot of work yes, but the dividend might be worthwhile? Otherwise how would potential gamers find you? |
