Not to beat a

picture

but WIP articles are supposed to have WIP. But also, sometimes, I am just cleaning up a few leftover bits and filling in some blank spaces. So the projects are quick and don't get (sometimes don't even merit) lots of "this is what I did" pictures.

That occasionally leaves me with a random menagerie of small one-off conversion pics.

Nice!

I'm also terrible about taking pictures in the middle of the process, unless I am at the end of the day's work.

Sometimes, I don't take pics of the progress because I know that, if I do, I will post them online instead of keeping the secret :) … sometimes it's nice to have the odd surprise in a thread with lots of WIP images…

This was my last 'full reveal' but it was in a thread filled with lots of WIPs for other miniatures… Poncho:

In my own case, I usually don't stop to get pics: too excited doing the thing. So a WIP picture for me is something like a post-session pic:

I am trying to set up Tau-themed figs as a faction for Infinity (hell, they already have the Combined Army and the Tohaa, so why not?). Trying to set up the equivalent to combi rifles, sniper rifles, etc… I wanted a mini with a missile launcher so I spent two hours making the launcher, but I did not spend one minute taking pics of the bits and pieces!

After doing WIP for a little while, I have gotten to the point where I can often link back to a previous article, saying "using the blah-blah technique". I think this is better than putting up a picture of my paint/glue/sand 1/1/1 mix for terrain basing every time. Plus, it links projects together by technique, so you can see (and I can remember) the different effects you can get in application of standard techniques.

Occasionally I have doofed this up by linking to another article that links to the technique instead of linking to the original that shows the technique. I usually get helpful emails to correct this! :)
