One of the games to feature at this month's meeting of the DWG was a refight of Fornovo using the Furioso rules from Alternative Armies.

Fantastic looking game! Oddly enough, I just bought the Italian War supplement this morning to take advantage of the sale on right now.

I haven't played the main rules themselves yet (tried to once, but plans fell through). What did your group think of the rules? Were they too random when it comes to movement? Are players able to formulate any sort of battle plan?

Although, whether the rules were awesome or awful, your group's collection of early Renaissance armies is simply stunning!

Yeah would love to hear feedback on Furioso rules- I have not seen much commentary on them yet.

Thanks for your comments chaps.
I think from the write up makes it clear that the club are happy playing these rules.

I was involved in a game last year and thought they were great, giving a period feel with plenty of decision points for the players and a fun game.

If you want to read on then just follow the link to JJ's where I reported that other game

That sounds very, very promising as that is exactly what I look for in a game! I did infer that your group liked the rules, but there are a lot of very, very popular rules that I simply cannot abide playing. Thanks for clarifying your thoughts on the rules.

And again, looking at your previous battle report, those figures are stunning.
